@Mayana Sorry, my mistake! I had a back and forth with @fak3r via direct messages on December 20. Back then we said he would come back in two weeks (around this time?) when he had more toots.

«Integrated Library Service, which can be translated into “a software that helps libraries to do their daily tasks”, such as enriching library collections through the acquisition of documents (books, ebooks, articles, pictures, movies, games, video games, music, music score, and so on), describing them to facilitate their identification and their retrieval through the search feature of the catalog, and of course, providing them to readers, usually called patrons.»https://github.com/rero/rero-ils

@im Well, actually some time ago I bookmarked some Swiss maps for gaming purposes, including "Vallesia superior, ac inferior, Wallis, le Valais" http://doc.rero.ch/record/32466and my brother in law works for SwissTopo and that has rekindled my interest in the Dufour maps – he was involved in a recent book: https://www.swisstopo.admin.ch/en/knowledge-facts/histcoll/historical-maps/dufour-map/175th-anniversary-dufour-map.html and so I suddenly though, oh, is rero related to swisstopo, so I checked out rero.ch and thought that a library network sounds like a cool workplace. 👍 @tinyrabbit

@im I don't dare buy injinji socks because I have a huge toe. 😅 @tinyrabbit, we just went for a run: 6.19km, 2°C, 48min. Dark grey skies, no pictures.

@im Yes I do. I find that the temperature is not a problem (but then again I usually don't run below at freezing). When running on snow, it has to be compacted: if snow gets between toes and sandal, it gets very, very cold very fast. But as long as you can keep your feet snow free, no problem. Also, no stopping, obviously. 😄 @tinyrabbit

@loke hm, is there a way to define a new local variable of the same name? Perhaps you need this to avoid called code in libraries from clobbering your variables?

@loke for short forms, keep the ∇ and lose the arrow?
∇ (arg0;arg1) functionName (arg2;arg3) { ... }∇ functionName { ... }

@loke perhaps you can use extra symbols to declare a global function instead of having all of the, be global by default. It’s like an “export this” symbol. ∀ probably already has a meaning, but something like:∀ ∇ (arg0;arg1) functionName (arg2;arg3) { ... }

@loke some random thoughts, perhaps they inspire something: in Perl, my $foo is a lexical variable, local $foo is a dynamic variable (elisp dynamic binding), and our $foo is a global binding. So I use ‘our’ whenever my code loads config files that might want to modify said variables. Sounds like a similar case.

@tinyrabbit wow, that is super cold! Doesn’t that hurt your lungs or something? Yesterday it was 1°C and we decided to go for a walk instead. 😅

I like this author's method of starting each chapter of his nonfiction book in the first-person present tense.

@Sandra Yeah, I looked into all of the 32 directories I dropped. Interesting to see a few WebKitCache subdirectories since you also mentioned older browsers.
