    @Argus @hamishcampbell @msaunders @emi

    Thank You!The main problem is that ActivityPub records and also has many other event videos which are about 400GB/year on my disks as average of 2018-2020.

    Agreed very much that W3C would be the right place to host stuff.

    @rhiaro We had no possibility to record anything at rC3, all my servers are full and I want to show what we did.In particular to you :)

      @sl007 afaik unfortunately w3c doesn't have capacity to host video for CGs. the Credentials CG has a server paid by digital bazaar which stores the call audio, and they're backed up in a git repo (on gh)

      @msaunders @Argus

      Yes, it is basically about storage. My server is ok.

      We need to store more and more if we want to preserve the events. Maybe we can make a deal with a CDN that hosts a big mastodon instance.

      The optimum would be 400GB/year as average of 2018-2020 …

      @sl007 @msaunders @Argus

      We build this into the #OMN is a #KISS fashion by allowing anyone to store anything and then to retrieve it vier a trust pipe. We run on massive "lossy" redundancy and humain behaviour to keep stuff online on going. The is no centre only lots of edges :)

      It's a project to balance "efficacy" with "huaminerty" something we need to get right in the 21st century.

      @hamishcampbell @sl007 @msaunders members of social.coop just recently acquired access to a BBB instance through meet.coop. I believe members play a monthly subscription of a few Euros (isn't that right, @emi ?). Maybe a similar arrangement could be worked out with W3C members.

      @msaunders @Argus

      Well, personally I would prefer BBB very strong.And not use hosted services wich are “free” and only play youtube videos.

      But anything is hard with 400€/month see thread https://mastodon.social/@sl007/105465483661369734

      Yeah, funding is a bitch - I've never had much luck, and just give what time I can to various projects.

      Setting up a server or renting VPS seems fairly affordable.

      The big problem I see is storage space. That's expensive, particularly if rented.

      And what are the storage requirements regarding time? As in does any data have a finite lifetime, or do we need to store more and more, in perpetuity?

      Wow, we have had such an amazing AMA! about #ContentModeration with @argus.

      Thank you Derek and everyone. It was so much input that, although it's dark now outside, I will go to the wood for 20 minutes.
